Texas Basketball

Roymiller

This year was one of the first years I have found the patience to sit and learn basketball. I know this sounds ridiculous to many who enjoy the game, and it is, but I’ve always been so busy playing football that I never took the time to enjoy many things…including learning how to enjoy the sport of basketball. I was always a really good athlete but because I was so big and could not really dunk the ball, I disappointed a lot of folks who wanted me to play the sport. But I did not care, I was in my mind, great at football and that is where my focus stayed.

I remember as a kid my dad would bring me to his Army basketball games at Ft. Eustis, VA and there I realized how good he was! I remember watching Roy Miller Jr dunk on a basketball goal and break it. I remember being scared because of the glass break, I did not realize until a couple years later that was actually something really cool. This year I’ve had the pleasure and I guess pain to watch Texas basketball. Texas has not been this good in some time. When I was at Texas our basketball Team was really good! DJ Augustine, Kevin Durant and the crew were big time talent! The loss in the big tournament to Abilene Christian was pretty bad and I still feel a certain way about it. I am not sure how Shaka Smart will rebound from the loss, especially after ACU got blown out in the second round. Shaka has brought Texas back from a long drought of competitiveness but the way the Horns loss was pretty bad!

The Horns Will Bounce Back!

And no Shaka needs 1 more year!
